Guest blogger Noreen Young is back with the guys’ edition of her tips for looking your best for a job interview. Check out her tips for women as well.
When going on a job interview or to a special event or meeting, you always need to put your best face forward.
Guys, here are some helpful tips for you.
- Start using a moisturizer. Dry skin is not in; healthy glow is in!
- Get a deep cleansing facial! It’s not just for the ladies, and makes you look and feel good too. Think of it as a dental hygienist but for your skin.
- Start to wear a lip conditioner for softer-looking, more hydrated and handsome lips.
- Start using whitening toothpaste. Celebrities love Supersmile for whiter teeth and healthier looking gums. Fresh breath is necessary. Altoids are a guy’s best friend.
- Groom your brows or get them groomed by a professional if they need it.
- Conceal dark circles with a salmon or flesh colored concealer, depending on how dark the circle may be. It will make you look well rested, and no one will notice you’re wearing it.
- Give yourself a safe tan with a self-tan face towel. Tan Towel towelettes give your face a healthy dose of color. No sun and skin cancer needed. You will look refreshed if you are tired. Say bye bye to pasty.
- If you are a blonde or redhead and your lashes are very light, get them tinted. It is a temporary tint to the lashes that last about 4 weeks and define your eyes.
- Get a manicure or a mani-pedi. It is cheaper to get both rather than just your hands. Even though they will not see your feet, you will feel better too. Ragged cuticles and fingernails do not look good on you on a job interview or an important meeting.
- Get a professional to give you a shave. It is ALL the grooming rage. The Town Center or in your city has an awesome place to get a professional shave. Barbers work magic!
- Keep your moustache and beard trimmed and keep it clean. Do you know there are now grooming products for men for just for the moustache and beard? Examples: Beard oil, beard shampoo, beard combs. Check out www.mancanics.com #shoplocal
Eat and drink before you go for your interview. Being dehydrated reduces your brain’s ability to think quickly and be ready for anything. Stay hydrated. If you are a nervous type, you will get dry mouth. Bring a bottle of water with you in a briefcase.
First impressions truly are lasting impressions.
Keep your mind open and your heart too. You never know what may happen and what the interview will bring you. Good luck!
