ABOUT THE COASTAL
The Coastal is a local magazine in Jacksonville, FL, that provides interesting stories, updates, and commentary on the past, present, and future of the greater Jacksonville area. Our popular weekly article series, Building Up Jax, is posted each Saturday and recaps the most significant development news from around the Jacksonville and northern St. Johns County communities. Other features include our Jax Evolved article series, where we highlight adaptive reuse projects involving local historic buildings, and our Hidden Gems series where we highlight lesser-known local institutions.
The Coastal was founded in late 2015 with the goal of providing detailed coverage of everything that makes Jacksonville an amazing city, as well as what can make it better in the future. The magazine launched on December 1, 2015, and has grown steadily since then, reaching hundreds of thousands of Jax and northern St. Johns County residents.
Our parent company, Cowford Media, was formed as The Coastal Jacksonville LLC. We remain 100% local and 100% independent.
