Local commissary kitchen company Jax Kitchen is coming to the master-planned Beachwalk community in St. Johns – and they’re bringing popular confectionary chain Kilwins with them.
Jax Kitchen Beachwalk LLC submitted plans for a 6,000-square-foot outparcel building along CR-210. Those plans show 2,100 square feet of the building designated as restaurant space – the application implies that this space will be occupied by Kilwins. The remaining 3,900 square feet will be dedicated to Jax Kitchen’s commissary kitchen. The plans also show drive-thru lanes and windows, though it’s unclear how they will be utilized.
Jax Kitchen, a locally-based commercial rental kitchen, is currently located on Emerson Street. Kilwins, a national confectionary chain that serves ice cream, chocolates, and fudge, has two existing Northeast Florida locations – one at St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, and one in historic downtown St. Augustine.
The two businesses join a list of confirmed tenants at Beachwalk that include Whiskey Joe’s Bar and Grill, FYSH Restaurant, Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders, and Daybreak Market. The project’s commercial portion is also expected to include a handful of additional outparcel buildings, over 50,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and a hotel; an additional retail center across the street is anchored by Publix.
Both businesses have been added to our running list of commercial tenants coming to St. Johns.
