In this week’s installment of Building Up Jax, we note a few minor bits of development news from around the city. Nothing huge to talk about this week, but among other things we note the sale of the popular but troubled Edgewood Bakery.
A Few Notes
- According to multiple sources, the popular Edgewood Bakery was sold by Shad Khan’s Stache Investments to local restaurant developer John Valentino, who plans to convert it to a French Pantry. The bakery closes its doors for good after next Saturday.
- A former Pinch a Penny pool services location at 11200 San Jose Blvd., next to Al’s Pizza, will be renovated into new retail spaces, with The Vitamin Shoppe acquiring a build-out permit this week according to Jacksonville.com.
- Accentuate, a local retailer that started at a location in the Jacksonville Landing, will relocate to the former Coach location at The Avenues, via Jacksonville.com.
- The former San Marco Train Station building will soon be occupied by tex-mex restaurant Puerta Vallarta, via Jacksonville Business Journal. It will occupy about half of the building, including a portion of upstairs space.
