Tennessee-based development company TDK has broken ground on a new upscale apartment community on Amelia Island.
Vintage Amelia Island, a 224-unit, $39.5 million complex, will fill in several parcels worth of land at Lime and 14th Street in Fernandina Beach.
The upscale community will feature free-standing garages, a pet park, a resort-style pool with private cabanas and fire pits, bike storage, a clubhouse with a coffee bar and fitness center, and more. Individual units will feature 9-foot ceilings, walk-in closets, full-size washer and dryer sets, granite countertops, and maple cabinetry.
The gated complex will feature eighteen separate apartment buildings, ranging from two to three stories each.
Its land includes around 13 acres of protected wetlands, which will act as an additional amenity for the community as it provides a nice touch of nature and wildlife.
“Vintage Amelia Island continues our theme of creating upscale multi-family housing,” said Tim Keach, TDK’s chief executive officer. “With limited housing on the island, it will attract working professionals not wanting to make the daily commute from Yulee or the Jacksonville area while also appealing to the older demographic not looking for the hassle of home ownership.”
TDK purchased the land for $3 million earlier this year. The construction and development company has built over 6,800 living units throughout the country.
Construction on Vintage Amelia Island is set to be completed in spring of 2020.
