EMBER & IRON COMING TO SHOPPES AT ST. JOHNS PARKWAY
Ember & Iron Rustic American Fare has signed a lease to open at Shoppes of St. Johns Parkway in northern St. Johns County.
The restaurant is a new concept from couple Mike and Brittany Cooney; it will serve ember roasted dishes prepared in a live fire grill. Specialty dishes include sweet tea brined pork chops and lemon-roasted chicken.
Its space within Shoppes of St. Johns Parkway will be 4,598 sq. ft. with a full bar and outdoor patio space.
TERMS SET FOR FIS GARAGE IN BROOKLYN
An ordinance was introduced at this week’s city council meeting that would approve and authorize the execution of an agreement between the city and Fidelity National information Services, Inc., for the development of a 1,380-spot parking garage at the former site of Fire Station No. 5 as part of FIS’s planned headquarters building.
The ordinance specifies that 130 public parking spots will be available to the public after 6:00 PM on weeknights and 24-hour access on weekends and holidays.
Construction on the garage must begin by June 2021, or the property will revert back to city ownership.
FLORIDA CASKET CO. BUILDING TO RECEIVE CITY FUNDS
The city plans to allocate $35,000 from city council’s operating contingency budget to Jacksonville Historical Society for renovations to the historic Florida Casket Co. building at 314 Palmetto St.
JHS will also receive a matching grant from Delores Barr Weaver.

- Keystone Terminals has purchased a 39.5-acre industrial waterfront terminal parcel at 1301 Wigmore St. for $8 million. Colliers International Northeast Florida brokered the sale, with Guy Preston and Seda Preston representing the seller, Norfolk Southern Corporation.
- Tap Out Fitness received a permit for build-out at 4268 Oldfield Crossing Dr.
- Fields Auto Group received a permit related to the construction of its new $3 million Porsche dealership at 11211 Atlantic Blvd.
- The city received a permit to renovate Fire Station No. 18 at 3504 N. Myrtle Ave.
