Artea at Southbank, a 340-unit apartment complex, is proposed for a piece of Southbank property adjacent to the soon-to-be-developed RiversEdge project.
Corner Lot Living is seeking conceptual approval from the city’s Downtown Development Review Board to construct the proposed four-story, 340-unit apartment building with an accompanying parking deck on a 3.87-acre lot between Montana Avenue and Broadcast Place, near the Fuller Warren Bridge. Plans show that the proposed complex would feature a central courtyard with a pool, open recreational space, and covered patio space, as well as a 7,100-square-foot leasing and amenity center and a 2,240-square-foot rooftop deck.
The 340 units proposed at Artea include 62 studio, 216 one-bedroom, and 62 two-bedroom units. In addition to being next door to the RiversEdge property, Artea would also be located near the Kings Avenue Skyway station.
Atlanta, GA-based Dynamik Design is the project’s listed architect, with St. Augustine-based Marquis Latimer + Halback also providing landscape architecture; locally-based Envision Design and Engineering is listed as the project engineer.
DDRB staff is recommending that the project be granted approval as long as additional screening is added to the garage portion of the structure. The board will vote on the proposal at its upcoming meeting on October 14.
