We’d previously mentioned that the shopping center planned for the St. Johns Co. development known as Durbin Park was going to be massive.
Now, new videos from developers Gatlin Development Co. show off the full scale of the project.
The videos show off the design for Phase 1 of the project, which will feature 700,000 square feet of retail space. Construction on this phase will start later this year.
The renderings show that this first phase will feature a Walmart, a Home Depot, a membership club (possibly Sam’s Club), a GATE gas station, a Chick-fil-A, and several shops.
Phase 1 will be located along a stretch of State Road 9B that, as the videos show, is currently under construction. This stretch runs from I-95 to St. Johns Parkway.
The project video also features a map of the full development as planned thus far. The second phase features 1.3 million square feet of retail space, including three anchor stores, a movie theater, and multiple hotels.
The final phase will include Bass Pro Shops, another hotel, and office, commercial, and residential space.
In all, the Durbin Park project will stand as the largest commercial center in Northeast Florida, featuring around 2.4 million square feet of retail space.
