#904WKND is your weekly, curated guide to the most interesting things going on in Jacksonville this weekend.
It’s going to be a relatively quiet weekend, but we’ve still got a few good ideas to get your weekend going! These are our picks for June 2 – 4.
Sports!
This weekend, three different Jax teams are playing home games.
On Saturday night at 7:00 PM, the Sharks will take on the Dayton Wolfpack at the Veterans Memorial Arena. At the same time, the Armada FC will be taking on in-state rivals Miami FC at Hodges Stadium.
Then on Sunday night, the Jumbo Shrimp will host the Montgomery Biscuits beginning at 6:35 PM.
So if you’re a sports fan, this will be a busy weekend!
J. Cole at Mavericks
Rapper J. Cole will be playing at Mavericks in Jacksonville Landing this Saturday night at 7:00 PM as part of his 4 Your Eyez Only tour.
It’s the second stop on the tour, kicking it off with a stretch where he plays at mostly smaller venues. On Sunday night he’ll be in Tallahassee to play at the popular college bar Potbelly’s.
There are still a few tickets available online, but they’re going for well over $100 each. Still though, if you’re a hip-hop head, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
Doggie Pageant!
Dog lovers, this is the event for you!
On Saturday morning starting at 10:00, there will be a “Paws for a Cause” dog pageant going on at Dog Wood Park at 7407 Salisbury Rd.
It’s hosted by Jireh Gerry, Miss Orlando’s Outstanding Teen 2017, with the goal of raising funds for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as well as the Miss America organization.
You can enter your dog in a few different contests online, or on the day of the event.
The crowning ceremony will take place at 3:00 PM.
The event is free to the public, but donations are encouraged.
