#904WKND is your weekly, curated guide to the most interesting things going on in Jacksonville this weekend.
Here are our picks for the weekend of May 12-14!
The PLAYERS Championship
Obviously, there’s nothing bigger this weekend in the First Coast area than The PLAYERS Championship.
The tournament’s second round began earlier this morning, and play will continue into Sunday evening. It’s not too late to get tickets, and it’s a great time – even if you’re not that into golfing.
There’s a little bit of everything at TPC, including:
- A food court that features local favorites like Firehouse Subs, Bono’s, and M Shack
- An open-air bar
- A TacoLu taco stand
- A wine lounge
- Several (shaded) entertainment zones
Mother’s Day Celebrations
Sunday is Mother’s Day, so many of us will be looking for somewhere to take our moms for their special day.
A few different places around town will be offering special Mother’s Day brunches. The one we like the most: MOCA is offering a brunch at Cafe NOLA – for $25 you can eat and then take a tour of the museum.
No matter where you plan on going, make sure to call ahead – no good brunch or dinner begins with 30 minutes of waiting for a table!
Springfield Second Sunday
Second Sundays is a new monthly community event in Springfield that started last month, led by the city and the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council.
It’s held at Klutho Park and features live music, food trucks, beer, and more. It’s free to the community, and will take place from 4 to 7 PM this Sunday.
