The growing relationship between The Bread & Board founders Dwayne Beliakoff and Jonathan Cobbs and VyStar Credit Union continues, as the duo has announced that it will bring its latest concept, Bread & Burger, to the newly-renovated breezeway at VyStar’s downtown campus.
Described as a “creative take on American fare,” Bread & Burger will serve a menu of specialty burgers and shakes, including quarter-pound, grass-fed beef burgers, herbed turkey burgers, crispy chicken breasts, and spiced lentil patties as well as hand-dipped kosher beef corndogs, fries, and more. An accompanying alcohol menu is also planned for “outdoor happy hours.”
The new restaurant will be part of the “VyStar breezeway,” which will also feature green space, public seating, games, and even space for live music. Its location will feature a kitchen made from a renovated shipping container, as well as a raised patio with additional seating.
“We are very excited to expand our sandwich footprint to include our take on casual meets gourmet burgers,” said Beliakoff. “Everything on the Bread & Burger menu will feature the fresh flavor we’re known for by focusing on regionally-sourced and in-house scratch made ingredients.”
“The breezeway offers a natural extension from The Bread & Board and Provisions Marketplace space on the ground floor of 100 West Bay Street, so we are thrilled to partner with VyStar again for this new concept,” added Cobbs. “With Bread & Burger, we’ll be able to cater to more of the foot traffic in downtown with another grab-and-go or sit and mingle option in the open air.”
The new concept from Beliakoff and Cobbs will join its other projects within the VyStar campus, including The Bread & Board’s ground-floor location at 100 West Bay, its accompanying provisions shop, and the new Estrella Cocina concept planned on the rooftop at 100 West Bay. The VyStar campus also features a Tossgreen location within VyStar Tower and Peterbrooke Chocolatier within 100 West Bay.
“As we build out the VyStar campus, we continue to think big in our efforts to create a downtown Jacksonville that can be enjoyed by everyone,” said Brian Wolfburg, VyStar’s president and CEO. “We appreciate the hard work that has gone into this project and are proud of what will be an exciting addition to our community.”
Construction on Bread & Burger has begun and the eatery is expected to debut later this spring, along with sister concept Estrella Cocina.
