International band Feeding Fingers will return to the Bold City for the first time in around eight years, with a show planned at local venue Nighthawks on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Frontman and composter Justin Curfman describes the band’s sound as “[having] evolved quite a bit since it started with every album, hopefully, being markedly different from one another – starting with 70’s / 80’s inspired, wide-eyed, post-punk juvenilia, then slithering through elements of world music, jazz, et al. to this wonderful, budding new world of microtonal music.”

The stop in Jacksonville is part of a larger U.S. tour in support of their new album, Do Owe Harm, which comes out on January 9.

It’ll be the band’s third time performing in Jacksonville since being formed in 2006 by Curfman, who was born and raised hours north in Atlanta, GA. He says one thing that stands out to him about Jacksonville crowds is their passion for the music.

“In other cities in the United States, people come out, do a bit of loitering around town – barhopping, eating something that they will regret later somewhere near the venue and miss one or sometimes two local opening bands in the process,” Curfman explains. “In Jacksonville, in my experience, people come out early and wait outside the venue for the doors to open and spend five or six hours in the venue to make sure that they don’t miss a thing.”

Curfman handles the vocals and much of the composition work for the band, and is joined by Bradley Claborn on bass and guitar as well as Christopher Fall on drums and percussion. For their show at Nighthawks, they’ll be joined in support by Jax-based act Severed+Said and Vero Beach-based group pass/ages.
