Join the nation’s premier step dance lineup on Saturday, January 27 at the Florida Theatre, as the national touring step show The Stompdown comes to town.

The Stompdown is a show compromised of the nation’s most elite step teams from high schools and Greek chapters as well as independent teams. It’s organized by Ballinger Productions & Entertainment, a Tampa-based all-purpose event production company led by Jacksonville native Djuan Ballinger.

“Jacksonville is a beautiful and diverse city where a lot of opportunity lies,” Ballinger says.

His company’s goal is to raise over $50,000 for educational scholarships, with a percentage of its shows going toward this goal as well as various nonprofit organizations.

Ballinger and his team have produced shows all across the country, and he’s excited to bring this event to his hometown.

“I wanted to bring a positive event back to the city of Jacksonville to inspire and empower youth, students, individuals and families through the art of step,” he says of the show.

“This event is not only a performance,” he continues, “but an event to educate our youth.”

Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance, and $25 at the door. They can be purchased from the Florida Theatre event page.
