Building Up Jax: Element Hotel coming to Jax Beach; trio of permits at St. Aug. outlet malls

ELEMENT HOTEL COMING TO JAX BEACH

Shivam Properties, Inc. submitted plans for a 10,627 sq. ft. Element Hotel along Beach Blvd. between 2nd and 3rd St. in Jacksonville Beach.

The Element Hotels brand, owned by Marriott, centers around eco-friendliness and connection with the local environment. It’ll be the brand’s fourth Florida location, with the other three located in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area.

TRIO OF PERMITS AT OUTLET MALLS

A 33,000 sq. ft. Harley Davidson dealership is planned at 380 Outlet Mall Blvd. within St. Augustine Outlets in St. Johns County. The $4.2 million project received a permit this past week.

Bozard Lincoln also received a permit to begin interior demolition within the former Gander Mountain building at 550 Outlet Mall Blvd.

And on the other side of I-95, Sonny’s BBQ received a permit to renovate its location at 2720 FL-16 near St. Augustine Premium Outlets.

DOWNTOWN GARAGE RECEIVES PERMIT

A permit was issued for a new 7-level parking garage at 28 W. Forsyth St. near the Laura Street Trio buildings. The previously-announced garage will feature ground-floor retail space and over 800 parking spaces. It’ll serve the redeveloped Barnett Bank building and Laura Street Trio once complete.
