Southgate Plaza to be replaced by apartments
Plans were submitted for the redevelopment of Southgate Plaza shopping center as a multifamily project. The plans, submitted by Chance Beach Owner LLC, depict three four-story apartment buildings, as well as a pool and open recreation space, on the property, located at Beach Blvd. and Schumacher Ave.
The project would consist of 295 units, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, as well as 48,937 square feet of recreation space.
The Yard Milkshare Bar to Town Center area
The Yard Milkshake Bar received a permit for build-out at 4906 Town Center Pkwy. near St. Johns Town Center.
It will be the first Jacksonville-area location for the company, which has over a dozen locations nationwide. It will take the place of Yogurt Mountain.

- Love’s Travel Stop submitted plans for the construction for a 10,000-square-foot convenience store, truck stop, and gas station at Imeson and Pritchard Rd.
- AutoNation USA submitted plans for a new dealership building at Atlantic Blvd. and Abess Blvd.
- Anejo Mexican Restaurant and Premier Martial Arts received a permit for build-out within Nocatee Town Center.
- Bowden Eye Associates received a permit for build-out within The Forum at Greenbriar.
- 121 Financial Credit Union received a permit for build-out at 11112 San Jose Blvd.
- The Jaguars received multiple permits in relation to their planned sports performance center at 1270 Beaver St. E.
- A permit was issued for the first phase of demolition of the former Times-Union building at 1 Riverside Ave.
- Indulgence Southern Bistro received a permit for build-out at 315 Forsyth St. W.
