Purple Roots opens at Tinseltown
A new Filipino restaurant is now open near Tinseltown on the Southside.
Purple Roots, a Filipino restaurant and bakery led by local residents Francis and Evana Cruz, opened yesterday at 4549 Southside Blvd. within a unit formerly occupied by KAZU Sushi. The husband-and-wife team is being assisted by Jimmy and Johnny Tung from BENTO in their new venture.
The eatery is currently reservation-only but will soon expand to quick-service lunch and a full bakery.
