IKEA OPENING DATE ANNOUNCED
The long-awaited arrival of IKEA is almost here.
The Swedish furniture giant plans to open its doors on November 8. If you plan on going there on opening day, though, be ready for some pretty awful traffic.
PLANS SUBMITTED FOR BARTRAM MARKET
Plans were submitted for a massive retail project off of Bartram Park Blvd., referred to as Bartram Market. The submitted plans show a 45,000 square foot grocery store – with what appears to be a drive-thru lane on its left side – next to 10 smaller shops, along with 10 outparcels along the property.
The development would be located at the intersection of Bartram Park and Race Track Rd.
NOTED PROJECTS
- Aldi is coming soon to the shopping center 10950 San Jose Blvd. This will add to the growing cluster of grocery stores along San Jose Blvd. near I-295, which already includes Publix, Whole Foods Market, Walmart, and the newly-opened Trader Joe’s.
- According to Jax Daily Record, major redevelopment is planned for the Southgate Plaza shopping center at 3428 Beach Blvd. The center is currently anchored by Save-a-Lot, which the property owners have indicated will not be included in the redevelopment plans. Last week we noted that the former Wendy’s in front of this center will be demolished.
- Palmetto Moon will take over the space formerly occupied by Suite in the St. Johns Town Center, according to the Daily Record.
- Popular Central Florida breakfast spot Keke’s Breakfast Café is expanding to St. Augustine, with a new location coming soon in the Cobblestone Village shopping center. The café is expanding to Tallahassee as well. Could Jax be next on the list?
