A Running List of What’s Coming to River City Marketplace and Its Surrounding Area

LAST UPDATED: June 19, 2019

We’ve previously created lists to keep track of Durbin Park and St. Johns Town Center development, but it’s time to give the Northside some love.

River City Marketplace originally opened in 2006 as North Jacksonville’s answer to the Town Center.

As with the Town Center, new development projects within the mall and surrounding it are starting to pop up more and more frequently. But unlike with the Town Center, updates about River City Marketplace can be tricky to find at times – the mall has no official website, and North Jax gets much less attention than the more suburban-oriented Town Center area.

To help you keep up with it all, here’s a list of what’s coming to River City Marketplace and its surrounding area. Be sure to check back regularly for updates!

I would love to have Target and some other restaurants that are out of the ordinary such as Freddie’s, Krispy Kreme, Mission BBQ and Chuy’s. We definitely don’t need any more housing at all!

We need another grocery store. Like atleast 2 more. Food can not stay on the shelves long enough. Also, a chineese buffet (a nice one), maybe a golden corral, a 4 rivers would be nice, steak and shake, a department store like a belk, Nordstrom’s, macys etc. Also a place like David buster’s or the old latitude 360. But no more nail salons or houses!

Yes, I agree with others on this platform! A Target, Metro Diner or A Maple Street Biscuit Company and a 5 Below would be fantastic additions to River City Marketplace! But..please, no more nail salons, housing or gas stations. Also a decent shoe store (DSW) would be a great addition!

We need some department/clothing stores, Costco, Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods!!! There are a lots of folks up here that have to travel over multiple bridges to get to these places. Add to them all the folks in Yulee and South Georgia who shop in River City and the population doubles. We are underserved for sure!!!!
