VAGABOND COFFEE OPENING MINI-SHOP DOWNTOWN
Vagabond Coffee is coming to downtown Jax earlier than expected.
The coffee shop announced on social media that they’ll be opening a shop at 223 N. Hogan St. The new shop is their second location – the first in Murray Hill opened in 2016.
They will also still be opening a full-sized location in the Barnett Bank building once renovations finish on it. It’s unclear if they’ll keep the Hogan St. shop open once the Barnett one is complete.
CANDY APPLE CAFE CLOSES
The Candy Apple Café & Cocktails, located within Sweet Pete’s building downtown, has closed permanently.
The restaurant announced its closure via Facebook, blaming it on the “prolonged closure” of the building. The building closed on August 10 for construction and will re-open at the start of October – at which point Sweet Pete’s will resume operations, without Candy Apple.
PAIR OF HOTELS GAIN DDRB APPROVAL
The proposed Residence Inn by Marriott in Brooklyn and the Hyatt Place downtown across from the Landing were both approved this week by the Downtown Development Review Board.
