This week in Building Up Jax, Latitude 360’s assets are auctioned off, a reader’s question about Mandarin South is answered, plus several other projects worth noting.

Latitude 360 auction

The inventory of the former Latitude 360 on Southside Blvd. will be sold off in an auction next weekend, as reported by First Coast News.

In addition to fixtures and cookware, the auction will include movie theatre items, arcade machines, and high-definition TVs.

The auction will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s auction, beginning at 10:10 AM, will feature mostly restaurant items such as grills, fryers, and dining chairs. Sunday’s auction will focus on the arcade games and movie theatre items such as projector screens; it will begin at 1:01 PM.

Both auctions will take place at Latitude 360. Sunday’s auction will also be open to online bidding at http://proxibid.com.

The center, Mandarin South, was purchased by Preferred Growth Properties back in 2014. The name may sound familiar as they’ve been featured in several recent editions of Building Up Jax – they are also the property owners for the upcoming development The Strand at the St. Johns Town Center.

The company recently filed plans with the city for a long-planned renovation to prepare for a new grocer anchor. This anchor is widely expected to be a new Earth Fare location, based on the company’s desire to expand to Mandarin and previous tenant Wood You Furniture stating that they were told of Earth Fare’s pending arrival. AutoZone and other current tenants are expected to stay where they are through the renovation process, which should begin soon.

Also via JBJ: the former Everest University building and two adjacent properties on Philips Highway next to the Baymeadows Junction shopping center were sold for $5.6 million. Plans for the land are unknown at this time.
