V Pizza planning new Fleming Island location
V Pizza is about to upgrade its presence in Fleming Island.
The locally-based Neapolitan pizza chain submitted plans earlier this week for a new, 5,760-square-foot restaurant building along US-17 – just over a mile northwest of its existing location at 1605 CR-220 within Fleming Plaza.
In addition to the restaurant building, the submitted plans also show a 1,800-square-foot covered patio as well as a 3,240-square-foot fenced-in play area. The restaurant would join the Eagle Pass of Fleming Island development by MarketMasters of the Southeast, which currently features two commercial office buildings.
While no announcement has been made, it seems likely that the chain’s nearby existing location would close following the opening of the new one.
UF Health to build second ER at Dunn Village
UF Health is planning another standalone ER department – this time at Dunn Village. The hospital received a permit this week for the construction of a free-standing ER facility at 11277 New Kings Rd. Details of the facility seem to be essentially identical to its recently-permitted Lane Avenue facility.

- Multiple permits were issued for Atlantic North Apartments, a 10-building, 300-unit apartment complex at 11727 Abess Blvd. within the Atlantic North development.
- Tropical Smoothie Café received a permit for the construction of a new restaurant building with drive-thru at 1290 Dunn Ave.
- Top Dawg Tavern received a permit for build-out at 13820 Old St. Augustine Rd.
- Bed Bath & Beyond received a permit for renovations to its existing location within River City Marketplace.
- Burger King received a permit for renovations to an existing location at 13180 Atlantic Blvd.
