DERBY ON PARK TO RETURN IN APRIL AS DINER
The Derby on Park building will not be vacant for long.
The restaurant is set to re-open in April as Derby House Diner, a new
Derby on Park shut its doors at the end of 2018, shortly after being taken over by the owners of nearby eatery The Bread & Board. That ownership group will not be involved in the new restaurant.
ACOSTA BRIDGE GETTING NEW LED LIGHTS
Work is expected to begin later this year on installing new LED lights along the Acosta Bridge. The color of these new lights will be adjustable to accommodate various events.
The bridge previously featured neon lights, but they broke down a few years ago.
Miller Electric will handle the installation of the new lights.
HAWKERS TO EXPAND IN FIVE POINTS
Hawkers Asian Street Fare is preparing to remodel and expand its location at 1001 Park St. in Five Points. It’ll be expanding its dining space and kitchen into the adjacent tenant space.
JAX GETTING A FIFTH MMJ DISPENSARY
Medical cannabis dispensary VidaCann received a permit for build-out within the shopping strip at 5298 Sunbeam Rd.
It’ll become Jax’s fifth cannabis dispensary, joining Trulieve, Curaleaf, Knox Medical, and Surterra Wellness.
NOTED PROJECTS
Hakimian Holdings received permits to construct two shell buildings at 5105 and 5117 J. Turner Butler Blvd., in front of the Liberty Center office building.
Taco Cartel is seeking a zoning exception to allow for outdoor beer and wine sales when it opens at 809 Lomax St. The outdoor seating area would be located in the back of the building.
Orthodontic Specialists of Florida received a permit for build-out at 7751 Baymeadows Rd. E.
Lending Bear will expand into the newly-vacant adjacent unit at 6016 St. Augustine Rd.
Aerie received a permit to renovate its location at St. Johns Town Center.
Mills River Partners LLC received a permit to build a 297,000 sq. ft. warehouse building at 6590 Pritchard Rd.
Cool Room received a permit for build-out at 9823 Tapestry Park Cir. It’s owned by Adam Podlesh, former punter for the Jaguars, and his wife Miranda.
First Florida Credit Union will remodel existing space within the shopping center at 11467 San Jose Blvd. for a new branch location.
Valvoline submitted plans for a new location at 8647 Blanding Blvd.
RaceTrac submitted plans for an 18-pump gas station and 5,400 sq. ft. convenience store at Atlantic Blvd. and Marketplace Dr. within the Atlantic North development.
Walmart received a permit to remodel its store at River City Marketplace.
