VAGABOND COFFEE OPENS DOWNTOWN SHOP
Vagabond Coffee celebrated the grand opening of its new downtown Jax quick-service shop at 223 N. Hogan St. during Art Walk this past week.
The new location will be open Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM. The local coffee shop, whose flagship location is in Murray Hill, will also be opening a full-service shop in the Barnett Bank building next year once it’s finished being restored.
JTA’S NEW ADMIN BUILDING APPROVED
Jacksonville Transportation Authority received a permit for the construction of its new administrative offices at 74 Johnson St. as part of the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center project.
Balfour Beatty Construction is the listed contractor.
BREWZ LOOKING TO OPEN IN DAHLIA’S BUILDING
According to Jax Daily Record, Brewz is planning to open a third location at 2695 Post St. in Riverside – currently the home of Dahlia’s Pour House, which would presumably close as a result. The beer bar and shop has a location at the Beaches and in St. Johns County, but this would be its first in Jacksonviille.
APARTMENTS PLANNED AT E-TOWN
Plans were submitted for E-Town Apartments, a six-building, 282-unit apartment complex set to join the future E-Town master-planned community off of 9B.
The project will be located at the corner of Square St. and Bold City St.

- Surge Adventure Park is now open at Regency Court Shopping Center. The 46,000 sq. ft. family-themed amusement center features arcade games, giant trampolines, rock climbing walls, and more.
- UPS received a permit related to the build-out of its expanded shipping hub at 4420 Imeson Rd. MHS Company Inc. of Kentucky is the listed contractor on the project.
- Davis Development received a permit for its planned 289-unit Satori apartment complex at 10640 Satori Ln. within the Gateway Village at Town Center development along Gate Pkwy. Morrow Construction Co. is the listed contractor.
- SMASH, a ping-pong themed bar and restaurant, is now open within Baymeadows Junction.
- D.R. Horton submitted plans for Bay Pointe North, a 204-unit townhome development off of Baymeadows Cir. on the site of the former Baymeadows Golf Club course.
- Panera Bread submitted plans for a new 8,600 sq. ft. location with drive-thru service along Old St. Augustine Rd. near Bartram Park Blvd. England-Thims & Miller is the engineer of record.
- Sprouts Farmers Market announced this week that it is planning a second Jax location at Beach and Tamaya Blvd.
- Home builder Toll Brothers received a permit to build out a new design studio at 12525 Philips Hwy.
- McDonald’s submitted plans to renovate its location at 1001 University Blvd.
- Goodwill is planning a new 16,000 sq. ft. store and donation center at 6021 Blanding Blvd.
