Peterbrooke Chocolatier has made its return to downtown Jacksonville.
The local chocolate shop has reopened its location within a ground floor unit at 100 W. Bay Street – now part of the VyStar Credit Union downtown campus. The downtown store had closed its doors while VyStar overhauled the building, including the ground floor retail units; as a result, the new store has been completely redesigned. It joins The Bread & Board on the revamped bottom floor of what was once the Life of the South building.
“The new Peterbrooke Chocolatier re-opening in Downtown Jacksonville, which was one of nearly a half dozen shops we opened within the last year, is a direct testament to the resolve and dedication that our team exemplifies each day,” said Peterbrooke Chocolatier COO Jeff Smith. “It’s perfectly situated in the heart of downtown Jacksonville and surrounded by dozens of other office buildings, retailers and restaurants. Chocolate, gelato and all the other treats we continue to offer remain feel-good propositions for our guests and we’re looking forward to meeting everyone’s holiday and gift giving needs as we close out the year.”
The reopened location will host an official grand opening ceremony on October 15 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with chocolate-covered popcorn giveaways for the first 500 guests as well as wine tastings, chocolate samplings, raffles, and more. Local author Joni Roberts will be there to discuss her book, “Celebrations, Appreciations & Frustrations.”
“It was tough to temporarily close our downtown shop while VyStar undertook large scale renovations to the building, but we’re happy to be back and better than ever,” said Smith. “We look forward to serving the greater Downtown Jacksonville community while putting a smile on everyone’s face that walks through our doors.”
The downtown Peterbrooke is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, plus special event hours.
