The Jacksonville Icemen suffered their first loss of the season this past Thursday, falling 4-2 to the Florida Everblades.
The team was bested by Florida after losing their points-leader, Alexis D’Aoust, to the team’s AHL affiliate the Manitoba Moose. Wacey Rabbit and Kayle Doetzel accounted for the Icemen’s two goals. Dajon Mingo (2), Cam Maclise, and Kris Newbury registered assists.
But the Icemen got their revenge the following night, beating the Everblades 4-3 in overtime. Cam Maclise scored two goals including the game-winner in OT. Garret Cockerill and Jake Randolph also scored. Cockerill, Randolph, Newbury (2), Rabbit, Alexandre Ranger, and Jack Glover all registered assists.
The Icemen now head into a busy week where they’ll play four times, including two more games against Florida.
