JAVA JOURNAL W/ ANN J: Pura Bean Coffee Company

Guest contribution by Ann Johnson

If you love the fragrance of coffee when you first step into a coffee shop, then you are going to love Pura Bean Coffee Company.

Whether your coffee of choice is cold brewed, espresso or pour over, head roaster and owner Chris Diedrich has roasted the perfect blend of small batch green beans to maximize the flavor for the best coffee you have tasted.

Chris and his wife began their love affair with coffee in Costa Rico and never looked back.

Chris sources the best coffee beans from small farms throughout the world to guarantee the perfect blend of flavors for his friends and customers. His beans come from as far away as Kenya, Costa Rico, Guatemala and Rwanda to name a few. He believes that by buying from small farms as much as possible, it gives farmers an opportunity to expand their fields and provide a better life for their families.

The store not only has excellent coffee but wonderful delicious pastries. Many are made by Chris or sourced from local bakeries for maximum freshness.

Pura Bean has several tables and chairs for enjoying an excellent brew while enjoying a fresh pastry.

You can also spend time reading or working on wi-fi.

You will find the Pura Bean Coffee Company in the shopping center at the corner of Beach Blvd. and San Pablo.

Look closely while you are out and about in Jacksonville, you may see the name Pura Bean listed on neighborhood cafes and restaurant menus. Chris also sells his roasted beans wholesale to local merchants.

You can always find Chris with his vintage VW van at The Riverside Arts Market Saturday mornings with his fantastic coffee. Stop by and say hello and sample his coffee. You won’t go home empty-handed.

Learn more about Pura Bean Coffee Company by visiting their website. Call in orders are welcomed.
