“Friday Night Live” Brings a Month of Music, and Giving, to Jax

The following is a press release from “Friday Night Live”, a month-long festival celebrating local music and generating proceeds for local causes. The Coastal will be sponsoring the first night of the festival – look for us there!

(Jacksonville, FL – August 9, 2016) Friday Night Live! Music Festival (FNL), Jacksonville’s most unique festival dedicated to local music, arts, culture and community, is pleased to announce its upcoming 4th year to be held at Hemming Park, September 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, from 7 p.m. –  10 p.m.

Showcasing some of the best bands in Jacksonville and an energetic crowd of community support, FNL creates a space for music lovers to engage with performers through crowd voting. From jazz to pop, rock to country, all genres are welcome to perform. A panel of influential community leaders serve as guest judges who express their evaluation of the performances through this interactive component.

In addition to the bands, FNL continues its tradition of giving back to the community with Friday Night Live Gives Back Silent Auction. The proceeds from the silent auction benefit Yoga 4 Change, a non-profit using the teachings and practices of yoga to transform the lives of veterans, incarcerated individuals, youth and those who suffer from substance abuse.

While the bands perform, attendees are invited to the Urban Arts Live exhibit, a live art demonstration representing the cultural and artistic diversity of our local arts community, as well as various street acts as they provide entertainment throughout the evenings.

Radio sponsors 93.3 The Beat and V101.5 will be onsite each night along with The Coastal, an online magazine that provides stories of the past, present and future of the First Coast Area. YWH Network photographers will capture all the fun moments of the festival.

The 4th Annual Friday Night Live! Music Festival takes the audience on an expedition to “experience, engage and express” with the multi faceted elements of the event. Bands and musicians are encouraged to register at http://fnl2016.eventbrite.com. Exhibitors are asked to set up an interactive booth to engage with attendees. Food trucks will be present to satisfy all appetites along with a full bar.

FNL Creators & Co-Founders, Jasmine Rhey and MadFab Media, exhibit Jacksonville’s many talents through music, arts, culture and community engagement. This free event has created a family-friendly atmosphere in Jacksonville’s downtown urban core every year since 2013. This ambitious duo continues to pursue their passion and contribute to community revitalization by organizing this event in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. View a video of their recent interview during the event here. “It is truly an honor to serve the community with our passion for diversity, and to inspire future generations.” – Jasmine and Madelene
