Sugar Ray, Quad City DJ’s Highlight Jax River Jams Lineup

Just under two weeks after it was first announced, Downtown Vision has revealed the lineup for its upcoming Jax River Jams concert series.

The lineup features a mix of national performers and local acts, led by two popular ‘90s groups: nu-metal band Sugar Ray and hip-hop collective – and Jacksonville natives – Quad City DJ’s. Sugar Ray, founded in 1986, peaked in popularity in the late ‘90s with singles such as “Every Morning” and “Someday.” Quad City DJ’s, meanwhile, are best remembered for their hit single “C’mon N’ Ride It (The Train)” and also penned the theme song for Space Jam.

Other headline performers include country singer-songwriter Chase Rice and pop-punk band New Found Glory.

The roster of local acts is equally impressive – psychedelic-bluegrass band Firewater Tent Revival, hip-hop group Universal Green, Afro-Cuban collective LPT, and blues trio Honey Hounds will all perform as opening acts for the series’ headliners.

Here’s how the schedule for Jax River Jams rounds out:

  • April 8: Chase Rice / Firewater Tent Revival
  • April 15: New Found Glory / Universal Green
  • April 22: Quad City DJ’s / LPT
  • April 29: Sugar Ray / Honey Hounds

“Whether you love [country], hip-hop, rock, punk-pop, Latin, or folk, there’s some great music for everyone at Jax River Jams. Downtown is open and ready to welcome everyone back safely,” said Jake Gordon, CEO of Downtown Vision. “We’re excited to give Jacksonville another reason to come downtown and listen to free live music with friends, have a few drinks, and embrace the beauty [of] our St. Johns River.”

Gates will open for each show at 5:00 PM. Opening acts will begin at 6:00 PM, with headliners performing at 7:30 PM. For more information on the concert series, check out our original article about it or the official Jax River Jams website.
