Everything You Need to Know for Porchfest 2019

The sixth annual edition of Porchfest, Jacksonville’s premier neighborhood festival, is set to envelop the historic Springfield community this Saturday.

The free festival kicks off at noon on Saturday, November 9 and lasts throughout the day, with over a dozen porch-front performances lining the streets leading up to an evening concert at Klutho Park’s main stage.

This year’s performers are led by headlining acts Maggie Koerner, Alanna Royale, and Mama Blue. Also returning from last year’s festival are Mal Jones and The Lyricist, Mere Woodard Band, Universal Green, Spade McQuade, Kim Reteguiz and the Black Cat Bones, Junco Royals, King Eddy and Pili Pili, Chris Thomas Band, Beau and the Burners, and Ouija Brothers.

First-time performers include Kara Frasier, Tad Jennings, Let’s Ride Brass Band, Jags Drum Line, Soju, Honey Hounds, and The Brent Byrd Band.

In addition to the plethora of live music offerings, over fifty vendors will be on hand during the festival including several local food trucks and craft beer and wine stations, along with a beer garden set up at Klutho Park.

Other amenities include a bike valet, restrooms, a cultural fusion station, recycling and composting stations, and a VIP area. For four-legged visitors, a “Dog Zone” sponsored by Kanine Social will be set up at Klutho Park, with a water station, dog treats, and even a dog photo booth.

While the event is offered free of charge, its organizers encourage visitors to consider shopping at its merchandise tent. Proceeds go toward keeping the festival free for years to come.

A full performance schedule for Porchfest is available on its official website, and copies of the schedule and a full map of the festivities can be picked up at the festival’s information tent within Klutho Park.
