UPDATED August 16, 2018
The Jacksonville Sharks lost to the Carolina Cobras in their NAL semifinal playoff game, ending the team’s quest for back-to-back championships.
The Sharks lost 73-48 to the Cobras, who had the league’s best offense and defense this season. The game took place in Greensboro, NC.
The team struggled in the first half, eventually pulling starting QB Patrick McCain for backup Danny Southwick. A second half comeback proved unsuccessful, leading the Sharks to head home early.
The Sharks had previously held the league’s #1 seed before losing their final regular-season game against the Maine Mammoths, resulting in the loss of home-field advantage for the semifinal game.
They’ll now begin an offseason that will likely involve major roster changes, including finding a steady option at quarterback.
