Sharks Beat Orlando Predators on Road for 10th Straight Victory

The Jacksonville Sharks racked up yet another win this past weekend, beating the Orlando Predators 76-30 in Orlando to extend their streak to ten victories in a row.

This one was all Sharks from almost the very beginning. Orlando would take the lead twice, briefly, in the first quarter – but the Sharks would take full control from there on out, led by a stellar effort from its defense.

The Sharks’ defense dismantled the Predators and their newest starting QB, Matt Parsons. The team picked off Parsons a jaw-dropping seven times, including three interceptions by DB Seth Ellis – the most by any player in one game this season. Robert Brown had two INTs, and Markus Smith and Cody Saul each pulled one in as well.

Ellis leads the league with 13 interceptions this season.

Parsons would finish 10-for-29, throwing for just 83 yards along with the seven interceptions. The Predators as a team were held to 76 total yards of offense.

The offense, meanwhile, racked up eleven touchdowns on its way to the team’s second-highest point total of the year. QB Mike Fafaul continued his strong run as the starter under center, and backup QB Garry Choulette even got in on the fun as well. Fafaul threw for 255 yards and had seven passing TDs with just one interception, while Choulette scored two rushing TDs.

Jarmon Fortson was the leading receiver for the Sharks, with the former FSU standout pulling in eight catches for 100 yards and 2 TDs. Devin Wilson had seven catches for 59 yards and 3 TDs – and is now at just under 1,000 receiving yards this season. Midseason addition Kamrin Solomon also scored twice.

On the ground, Alstevis Squirewell added a rushing TD along with two from Choulette.

With the victory, the Sharks (10-1) claim their season series against the lowly Preds (2-9) despite having one game left to play against the team.

The Sharks will face another red-hot team, the Massachusetts Pirates, next Saturday in Worcester, MA, as they look to extend their win streak to eleven games.
