Where to Adopt a Pet in Jacksonville

Looking to adopt a dog into your family? Here are a few places where you can find an amazing canine companion.

JACKSONVILLE HUMANE SOCIETY

Jacksonville Humane Society always has dogs and cats available for adoption. You can browse the array of available animals on their website. All their animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for heartworms. Adoption fees range from $50 to $75 for cats and $50 to $125 for dogs.

ANIMAL CARE AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES

The city’s Animal Care and Protective Services department, like the Humane Society, always has a ton of great animals available and looking for new homes. The available pets are vaccinated for rabies. They can be viewed on the ACPS section of the City of Jacksonville website.

MEGA PET ADOPTION EVENTS

First Coast No More Homeless Pets holds three annual Mega Pet Adoption events, which it bills as the largest pet adoption events in the country. Over 1,000 dogs and cats are made available at the events, with more than 15,000 successful adoptions since 2012. You can find information about the next upcoming event on the organization’s website.
