Building Up Jax: Plans filed for San Marco Promenade; JTA test track

PLANS SUBMITTED FOR SAN MARCO PROMENADE

Plans were officially submitted this week for San Marco Promenade, a multi-family apartment complex near the intersection of I-95 and Philips Highway.

The project is a new take on what was once known as Jackson Square, which was proposed prior to the recession and was never built.

The plans show a three-building complex with a leasing center and pool, with land set aside for future commercial development along Philips Highway.

JTA TEST TRACK

JTA has opened a test track spanning from Intuition Ale Works to Daily’s Place, on which they’ll be trying out various autonomous vehicle models in preparation for the coming revamp to the Skyway system – currently being branded as the Ultimate Urban Circulator.

The test track will be open to the public, and JTA encourages feedback from residents.

220 RIVERSIDE RETAIL SOLD

The retail space on the ground floor of 220 Riverside in Brooklyn has been sold to Miami Lakes-based CRE Properties, according to Jax Daily Record.

Three of the four units are currently occupied, with HOBNOB occupying two of them. The fourth space was originally home to Sbraga & Co. before it closed without warning last year.

NOTED PROJECTS

  • 8th Street Fast Café is already up for sale less than a year after opening. The restaurant continues to operate while new ownership is sought out.
  • Volcano Korean BBQ received a permit for buildout at 9840 Atlantic Blvd.
  • According to Jax Daily Record, the former owner of Harmonious Monks will open Smash Pingpong in the Baymeadows Junction shopping center at the corner of Baymeadows Rd. and Philips Highway. It’ll go in next to Scan Design.
  • Jack Hanania of Hanania Automotive has purchased downtown’s Dyal-Upchurch Building, according to Jax Daily Record. He’s also seeking out a separate downtown property to convert into a new HQ for his company.
