“Jax River Jams” Concert Series Coming to Riverfront Plaza in April

Downtown Vision announced yesterday that it will launch Jax River Jams, a free riverfront concert series, in April.

The concerts will take place on Thursday evenings throughout the month of April – April 8, 15, 22, and 29 – and will feature performances by a multi-genre mix of national headliners and local talent – to be announced at a later date – as well as a small business and artist market, food trucks, and alcohol stations with local craft beer and spirits available for purchase. They’ll be located at Riverfront Plaza, the former site of The Jacksonville Landing.

“We invite employees to stay downtown after work, and for the community to come downtown and enjoy this free live music concert series safely in a spacious outdoor environment,” said Jake Gordon, CEO of Downtown Vision. “We’re excited to cultivate this amenity for downtown and are working hard to create an inclusive event where there will be something for everyone.”

The series is presented by VyStar Credit Union, whose headquarters is located across the street from Riverfront Plaza. Other event partners include the city, Florida Theatre, JAX Chamber, Visit Jacksonville, AVL Productions, and the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville.

“At VyStar, we believe Jacksonville is at its best when we have a thriving Downtown that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors of all ages,” said Brian Wolfburg, president and CEO of VyStar. “The upcoming concert series is a great example of what can be accomplished when we work together, and we are thrilled to have it take place in our backyard. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones there.”

The concerts will be held in accordance with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19. Face masks and social distancing will be required, and hand sanitizer stations and face masks will be available on-site. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and camp chairs to help with distancing.

The series kicks off on April 8, with gates opening at 5:00 PM. For more information, check out jaxriverjams.com.
