We’ve stressed in the past the importance of taking care of your mental health – and the importance of local resources that help residents do so.
One local therapist is set to offer a vital resource this March: free mental health screenings.
Michelle Wright, a licensed mental health counselor based in the Mandarin area, is offering free screenings for anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
“I want to help eliminate the stigma about mental health in Northeast Florida,” says Wright. “I’m offering the screenings to send a message to our community that we must take care of our minds; it’s the most important part of the body.”
To take part in the screening event, participants must be at least 15 years old and must fill out a screening form ahead of time. They’ll then be scheduled for a 10-minute diagnostic session with Wright.
The diagnostic sessions will be taking place at Wright’s office at 12627 San Jose Boulevard on March 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and March 9 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. If you’re interested in reserving a spot, send an email to cecily@cecilymarie.com.
