Cowford Chophouse Raises Over $18,000 for Jacksonville Arts & Music School

Cowford Chophouse recently held a virtual check presentation over Zoom to commemorate its donation of just over $18,000 to the Jacksonville Arts & Music School.

The downtown eatery raised the money through its fourth annual MOO-VE IT 5K event, as well as the inaugural MOO-VE IT Cooking Competition hosted by Jax Cooking Studio. Its donation will help fund future programming for JAMS, a local youth development organization that provides arts education and leadership development to students in grades 3 to 10 in the city’s underserved communities. It will allow for the development of both on-campus and virtual curriculums, as the school shifts toward virtual operations during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now more than ever, we are grateful to be a member of the Jacksonville community and feel a sense of duty to help uplift our neighbors, friends and family,” said Jacques Klempf, co-owner of the Cowford Chophouse. “[JAMS] is close to our hearts and provides an incredible amount of support to Jacksonville’s youth, making a direct impact in their lives now and setting them up for success in the future.”

Since it launched the MOO-VE IT 5K run in 2017, Cowford Chophouse has raised over $40,000 for local organizations such as the Justice Coalition, the North Florida School of Special Education, and the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center. In recent weeks, the eatery has also donated over 500 pounds of food items to Teen Challenge Jacksonville Men’s Center and 300,000 eggs to Feeding Northeast Florida.
