A violent mass shooting erupted at GLHF Game Bar in The Jacksonville Landing on Sunday afternoon, leaving three dead and at least nine others injured.
The shooting took place during a Madden 19 video game tournament, with the sound of multiple gunshots audible during a live stream of the event. (The stream can be found on Twitter, but we’re choosing not to post it.)
The shooter has now been identified as David Katz, a 24-year-old from Maryland who was a participant in the tournament. Katz killed himself following the shooting.
The two victims who died in the shooting, Eli Clayton and Taylor Robertson, were also participating in the tournament at the time.
The event at the Landing comes just two days after a deadly shooting took place at a Raines High School football game – making it the second shooting to reach national headlines in Jax this weekend.
JSO’s investigation of the event is ongoing.
