It was quite a busy week in Jacksonville development news. This week, we cover announcements at the St. Johns Town Center, new tenants for Jacksonville Landing and the former Latitude 360 building, plus a few other notes.

Tenants at New Town Center Development

This past week, tenants for upcoming St. Johns Town Center developments The Strand and The Crossing were announced, according to Jax Daily Record.

Both developments are set for stretches of land across from existing parts of the Town Center. Both are owned by Preferred Growth Properties.

The Strand will feature the following new-to-market locations: PGA Tour Superstore, used book and game store 2^nd and Charles, Mexican restaurant Chuy’s, and the previously-announced Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill.

Additionally, it will feature Chase Bank, TD Ameritrade, and Moe’s Southwest Grill. An apartment complex, Ravella at Town Center, will round out the center.

At least one anchor tenant for The Strand is still in negotiation and, as such, has yet to be announced.

At The Crossing, Wawa, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Goo-Goo 3 Minute Express car wash, and Tim Tebow-owned restaurant PDQ will be featured.

Latitude 360 to Become Main Event

The building that formerly housed the failed entertainment complex Latitude 360 will get a new entertainment venue as its tenant.

Main Event, a Texas-based entertainment center, applied for a $4.5 million renovation of the location. It would be Main Event’s first Florida location.

The renovation would upgrade the space significantly while maintaining many of the elements present at Latitude 360, such as a bowling alley and arcade. Additionally, Main Event will feature laser tag, and full bar and dining areas.

The building was constructed in the early 1990s as a Toys ‘R’ Us. Latitude 360 opened there in 2011 after Toys ‘R’ Us moved to the St. Johns Town Center. It closed abruptly earlier this year due to financial mismanagement.

Good News for the Landing

According to multiple sources, Lanna Thai Sushi will open at the Jacksonville Landing on September 1 after signing a five-year lease this week.

Lanna Thai is a new concept from the owner of Riverside’s Tamarind Thai. It will feature sushi and Thai items, as well as a full bar.

It will take over the upstairs space vacated by Koja Sushi in 2014.

The move is great news for the beleaguered Landing property, which will also welcome a coffee and donut shop within the next couple of months.

A few notes

• Designer clothing store Tory Burch will open at the St. Johns Town Center.
• Health store GNC will open at 11250 Old St. Augustine Rd.
• Firehouse Subs will be moving their headquarters from Mandarin to Flagler Center, according to Jax Daily Record.
• Alliance Realty Partners LLC purchased land near Prudential Dr. along the Southbank for $6.5 million with the intention of building a 263-unit apartment complex, via Jax Daily Record.
