Flagler Health+ Campus in Durbin Park to Break Ground in Fall

Construction is expected to begin later this year on the Flagler Health+ campus at Durbin Park.

The 40-acre, $150 million medical campus will be built in multiple phases starting this year and continuing through 2025. The first phase, referred to as the Health Village, will feature facilities for family practice, women’s care, pediatrics, urgent care, imaging services, and laboratory services; it will also include green space for lifestyle programming and community engagement.

Later phases will include a hospital, outpatient surgical services, and cancer care among other services.

The project was announced last summer by Flagler Health+ , with the healthcare company recently signing a non-binding agreement with UF Health to explore the possibility of collaborating on it. Plans for the project were approved by the county on May 19.

Jacksonville-based architecture, engineering, and construction firm Stellar has been selected as the design-builder for the campus, which will be located near The Pavilion at Durbin Park and the future Durbin Park East mixed-use development in northern St. Johns County.

Stellar’s previous local projects include multiple facilities at Jacksonville University and the Jacksonville Zoo. It will collaborate with international architecture firm Gresham Smith on the campus design.

Stellar also served in a similar capacity at the Flagler Health+ campus in Nocatee.

Discussions are still ongoing as to the concrete details of the campus’s future phases, as well as ambulatory services for the campus.

Groundbreaking on the Durbin Park campus is expected to take place this fall.
