Building Up Jax: Two more businesses exit downtown

MLG, MOCHA MISK‘I CLOSE DOWNTOWN LOCATIONS

The ongoing revival of downtown Jacksonville was dealt a couple of blows this week.

Dessert shop Mocha Misk’i permanently shut down its location along Laura St., with a Facebook post indicating that they’ve opted to become an online-only business.

And MLG, the upscale restaurant concept from investor Marcus Lemonis, also permanently closed its location within the historic Seminole Club building downtown.

Lemonis is apparently done with downtown Jax altogether, as the building itself has also been listed for sale. Sweet Pete’s is expected to remain in the building for the time being.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY UPDATES

Lee Nails & Spa received a permit for build-out at 45 Durbin Pavilion Dr. within The Pavilion at Durbin Park.

And south of that in St. Augustine, Chick-fil-A submitted plans for a new location to be built adjacent to a future Wawa location at SR-16 and Inman Rd. near the outlet malls.

MORE MEDICAL CANNABIS COMING SOON

Medical cannabis dispensary MedMen received a permit for build-out at 1059 Park St. in Five Points. The location was most recently occupied by Fans & Stoves Antique Mall.

Additionally, VidaCann and AltMed MUV are expected to open their local dispensaries within the next month.
