SpringHill Suites by Marriott to build at Baymeadows Park

SpringHill Suites is ready for construction at Baymeadows Park.

The Marriott-branded hotel received a permit this week for the construction of a five-story, 120-room hotel building at 9325 Baymeadows Rd. The hotel will join First Watch Restaurant and Starbucks at Baymeadows Park, located at Baymeadows Rd. and Baymeadows Cir.

Two more commercial buildings are expected to round out the project, which began construction in late 2019. Joyce Development Group is the developer for the project.

Scooter’s Coffee coming to Orange Park

A new-to-market coffee shop is set to pop up in Orange Park.

Scooter’s Coffee submitted plans for a new 632-square-foot building with a drive-thru lane at 151 Park Ave., on the site of a former RaceWay gas station which has since been demolished. It would be the first Northeast Florida location for Scooter’s; its nearest location is in Gainesville.

Noted projects

  • Developer RISE received a permit for the construction of Linden House, a three-building, 295-unit apartment complex with clubhouse, at 9B and Race Track Rd.
  • Wendy’s received a permit for renovations to an existing restaurant location at 1175 Dunn Ave.
  • Jacksonville Cambodian Buddhist Society received a permit for the construction of a new building at 4540 Clinton Ave.
  • IDEA Public School received a permit for the construction of a $14 million kindergarten through eighth grade charter school at 1845 Bassett Rd.
  • Dollar General received a permit for the construction of a 10,640-square-foot retail store at 5590 Blanding Blvd.
  • Urban Partners Corp. submitted plans for Normandy Pines, a 116-unit townhome community along Normandy Blvd. near Herlong Airport.
  • Corner Lot Development Group submitted plans for a new 85-lot subdivision at 5715 Old Kings Rd. near Lane Ave. N.
