Building Up Jax is a weekly article series, posted each Saturday morning, that provides you with the latest updates on development and construction in the greater Jacksonville area.
Business analytics and financial services firm Dun & Bradstreet plans to relocate its headquarters to Jacksonville.
A new resolution to be introduced to city council this coming week would authorize an agreement between the city and Dun & Bradstreet that includes a $6 million relocation grant, a $12 million HQ retention grant payable over twenty years, and an employment creation grant of $3 million. Altogether, $21 million in city incentives would be offered for the relocation, plus an additional $4 million in state grants.
The company’s relocation to Jax would create 500 new jobs locally at an average salary of $77,000. It’s unclear where the company’s headquarters building would be located, though the official paperwork alludes to the purchase of an existing building.
Founded in 1841, Dun & Bradstreet has around 5,000 employees.
Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders submitted plans to redevelop a former bank branch building at 10560 Old St. Augustine Rd. into a restaurant location with drive-thru.
The property was previously under contract to become a 7-Eleven gas station and convenience store, which would have involved demolishing the existing structure; those plans seem to have fallen through.
It will be the first Northeast Florida location for Huey Magoo’s, which also expects to debut soon in St. Johns County.
