DARIFAIR FOODS MOVING TO FLAGLER CENTER WITH NEW HQ BUILDING

Darifair Foods recently broke ground on its new headquarters and innovation center facility within Flagler Center.

The locally-based food science firm’s new 47,500-square-foot facility at 13129 Flagler Center Blvd. is being designed and built by local construction company Stellar, in collaboration with Matthews Design Group. It will house offices, a production lab, and a client test kitchen.

The company’s current HQ building is located along Sunbeam Road. Its new facility is expected to debut next fall.

THE BREAD & BOARD READY FOR DOWNTOWN BUILD-OUT

The Bread & Board is starting the build-out process for its future downtown location.

The eatery submitted a permit for its build-out this past week within VyStar Credit Union’s downtown headquarters. It will occupy 7,200 sq. ft. within the former Life of the South building with its restaurant and provisions shop.

FLC Contracting is the project’s contractor; Thomas Duke Architecture and Micamy Design collaborated on its design. The finished project is expected to debut in the winter.

• FIS received a permit for the construction of its new $108 million headquarters building at 347 Riverside Ave.
• Jacksonville University received a permit for the construction of a new $7.6 million basketball training facility at 2800 University Blvd. N.
• Plans for Towns at Avenues Walk, a 30-building, 186-unit townhome community within the Avenues Walk mixed-use development, were re-submitted for a two-year permit extension.
• Larry’s Giant Subs received a permit for the construction of a new restaurant building at 5857 Roosevelt Blvd. It will replace an existing location nearby.
• River City Science Academy submitted plans for a new “innovation campus” at 8160 Baymeadows Way W. Those plans show a new 23,000 sq. ft. school building, a soccer field, basketball courts, a playground, and a retention pond.
• CMC Steel received a permit for the construction of a new $2.5 million facility at 16770 Rebar Rd.
• TempurPedic received a permit for build-out at 4663 River City Dr. within St. Johns Town Center.
• Geomni received a permit for build-out at 600 Wright Brothers Dr.
