An abandoned historic project in Springfield is set for revitalization.
GNP Development is planning Springfield Lofts, an adaptive reuse project at the former Jacksonville Jewish Center / Job Corps Center building. The development would include 78 residential units along with retail space.
The company is seeking around $3 million in city funding for the project; any such incentives would require approval from city council.
Arlington Toyota is planning a major revamp.
The dealership received a permit for construction of a new $10.7 million building at 10939 Atlantic Blvd., as well as permits to remodel its existing dealership and collision center buildings for another $700,000.
Edgewood Storage LLC submitted plans for a 96,000 sq. ft. self-storage building, as well as a proposed 5,000 sq. ft. retail building, at the former site of Jones College along Edgewood Ave. in Murray Hill.
The development drew criticism from local residents due to the presence of a self-storage building component; the project will now move forward in spite of those objections.
