The Jacksonville Sharks continue to fill out their roster for the 2020 National Arena League season, bringing back several key members of last year’s championship team and making another new signing as well.
The team has officially re-signed five more members of its 2019 team, including defensive linemen Jonathan Taylor and Aaron Bellazin, offensive lineman Mike Wiliams, fullback Alstevis Squirewell, and wide receiver Kamrin Solomon.
All five players will return for their second season with Jacksonville, including second-team All-NAL defender Taylor and first-team All-NAL fullback Alstevis Squirewell.
In addition to those re-signings, the Sharks have added offensive lineman Justin Cook. The second-year player spent last season with Orlando and Carolina.
The new signings join Derrick Zeigler, Zack Brown, Tony Goodman, Jaleel Brown, and Fred Williams on the current 2020 roster.
The Sharks will face a somewhat more challenging schedule in 2020, as the NAL announced the addition of two new franchises: the Jersey Flight and the West Virginia Roughriders. The Roughriders have bounced around between arena leagues, winning two championships in two different leagues over the past three years. The Flight join the NAL after a stint in the American Arena League.
With plenty of time remaining ahead of its 2020 debut, the team will look to continue to bring back its stars from last season’s championship run, including linebacker/wide receiver Cody Saul, wide receiver Devin Wilson, and quarterbacks Jonathan Bane and Mike Fafaul.
