This week in Building Up Jax: Vineyard Vines is coming to the St Johns Town Center, work continues on 20 West Adams, and several other notable projects are detailed in what was a relatively busy week for development news.
Vineyard Vines is coming to the St. Johns Town Center.
The retailer will be taking the place of Tesla‘s temporary showroom at 4663 River City Dr. as they construct their new location in the former Forever 21 building down the street.
Vineyard Vines has become a popular brand among college students and young professionals, and is known for its pink whale logo.
It’ll be the first Vineyard Vines store in Jacksonville. The location is now listed as “coming soon” on the brand’s website.
Earlier in the week, we were the first to cover the pending restoration of the former Lerner Shops building at 20 W. Adams St. downtown. The 20 West Adams project has been in planning for over a decade, with work on the building beginning earlier this week.
As noted in our article, Danis Construction will handle the first phase of the restoration. The building will be converted into a dormitory for FSCJ‘s downtown campus.
A permit for the massive Amazon.com fulfillment center at 12900 Pecan Park Rd. was approved this week. Seefried Industrial Properties filed for the permit, which indicates a 2.1 million square foot center at the price of $87 million. The project is expected to bring around 1,500 jobs to the First Coast area.
