Building Up Jax: Sears building at Regency being shopped

NEW LIFE FOR OLD SEARS BUILDING?

The former Sears location at Regency Square Mall is now being actively marketed for redevelopment.

According to Jax Daily Record, an unnamed buyer that plans to close on the building by year-end is already looking for potential tenants. The building is being marketed as ideal for auto dealers, given the presence of Sears’ auto center infrastructure and the already strong presence of auto dealers along the adjacent stretch of Atlantic Blvd.

The building, which is currently owned by Sears, is still attached to the mall – specifically, it’s on the end of the mall that was at one point being redeveloped by International Décor Outlet.

The IDO wing has shut its doors, likely for good, so any new activity on that side of the mall would be a welcomed sight.

FIREBIRDS OPENS THIS WEEK

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill will open at the St. Johns Town Center on November 1.

According to a press release, the restaurant offers “hand-cut aged steaks, fresh seafood, chicken and ribs.” The new location will feature a new interior design for the chain developed by Charlotte-based starrdesign.

Reservations can be made online, on OpenTable, or via phone.
