Timucuan Parks Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to protecting Jax’s preservation parks, is seeking out volunteers to help them with trail maintenance and fence clearing at the National Park Service’s Jacksonville headquarters.
The project, part of the partnership between the Timucuan Parks Foundation and the National Park Service, takes place tomorrow, October 13, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 13165 Mt. Pleasant Rd.
Volunteers must be at least 13 years old and must be accompanied by a guardian if under 16. Fence-line and underbrush clearing will be the main task of the morning. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes, bring gloves and any other equipment you have, and wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen. Trash bags, snacks, and water will be provided.
