“The Link” Neighborhood Hub Breaks Ground in Nocatee

The fast-growing Nocatee community in northern St. Johns County will soon be adding a unique offering to its existing slate of commercial developments.

The Link, a proposed 22,500-square-foot multi-use “innovation incubator” and community center, broke ground yesterday next to Treylor Park Restaurant within Nocatee Town Center.

The $6.5 million project, led by local entrepreneur and Wired2Perform founder Raghu Misra, aims to create space for entrepreneurs to start companies, collaborate, and grow their projects while also allowing for a health-centric lifestyle. It will feature co-working space, exercise studios with upstairs showers, and dedicated space for STEAM programs for kids among other community-centric amenities.

Misra aims for the facility to be a “building of the future,” with internet-connected environmental sensors, UV disinfecting lights and UV-deploying robotics, and HEPA air filtration units providing the ultimate healthy environment for working. The building will be designed to come as close to net-zero energy consumption as possible.

He’ll be assisted in the project by building AI firm Kognition and WTEC Energy; representatives from both companies were present at yesterday’s groundbreaking ceremony.

The Link will join several other health-centric initiatives in Nocatee, including facilities from Baptist Health, Flagler Health, and First Coast YMCA. It’s expected to open its doors next summer.
