BUILDING UP JAX: 904 Tacos coming to Five Points

Building Up Jax is a weekly article series, posted each Saturday morning, that provides you with the latest updates on development and construction in the greater Jacksonville area.

904 TACOS COMING TO FIVE POINTS

904 Tacos Street Tacos & Cantina is ready to add to the growing slate of taco-centric restaurants in Riverside.

904 Tacos plans to open soon within the former Derby on Park building at 1086 Park St. in Five Points, most recently occupied by Derby House Diner. The new eatery is from the same owners as Anejo Cocina Mexicana, which is opening soon within Unity Plaza in Brooklyn, and Salsas Mexican Restaurant.

904 Tacos will join Taqueria Cinco and Corner Taco among the taco-themed offerings in Five Points.

BIRDIES WORKING ON COMEBACK

Birdies is making a comeback.

The Five Points favorite, which had previously announced it would close permanently, will instead be taken over by ServStar Management, a bar management company that also manages Hoptinger, The Shim Sham Room, Dos Gatos, and Surfer the Bar locally.

Its new owners have already installed a new bar and made small layout changes to the interior, and they also plan on adding an outdoor deck in the near future.
